Today one of my (several) orders from eBay came in! This particular one was a lot of 3 used box cars. The manufacturers were unknown, so I took a chance. They are pictured below: a Boston & Maine, a Virginian, and a Santa Fe Refer. Since my railroad's theme is New England lines, I cannot keep the Santa Fe and Virginian as they are. As of writing this my plan is to re-letter the Virginian to a Pan Am Railways box car, modify the B&M to be a track cleaning car, and repaint and re-letter the refer into a B&M "MILK" transport car. Both repainted cars will be renumbered as well.
There are also a number of things that need to be fixed on each car. The B&M needs a new brake line & wheel. The Virginian needs refurbished wheelsets. They may all get new couplers. I haven't decided how I feel about the Kadee couplers that came with the pieces. Also. According to a forum member on G Scale Central, the Refer is a Charles Ro and the Virginian is a Delton. Both of which are long gone companies.
